The centre of Somerset's county town will be closed during the evenings for two weeks to allow roadworks to take place.
The A38 in Taunton between Shuttern and Mansfield Road will be shut from 6.30pm to 11.30pm between January 30 and February 10.
Workmen will be working hard to resurface the road and carry out other vital maintenance, keeping the road open during the day to minimise disruption to motorists.
