A construction company has won a contract worth an estimated £20M per year to maintain, upgrade and repair Somerset's roads.
Skanska, which is based in Rickmansworth in north London, had carried out a great deal of work on Somerset's highways in recent years - including a road-raising scheme in Muchelney near Langport which will prevent the village from being cut off by any future flooding.
Now Somerset County Council has entrusted the company with a new seven-year contract to look...
